Tighten Your Belt in More Ways Than One

Tighten Your Belt in More Ways Than One

Glasgow Herald with edits by Firelink.com

There was a time when, after a holiday binge, one could take the first tentative steps to getting fit by walking down to the nearest gym and handing over a large amount of money in exchange for a membership card. It was an easy way to start a fitness regime: that shiny new piece of plastic would – in theory at least – empower you to visit the gym and kick start your new healthy lifestyle.

So to ensure you start 2009 on the right foot, we’ve put together a guide to getting fit without spending all your hard-earned cash. There are plenty of options, from free road-running with a group of like-minded friends, to local classes that you can attend for a modest fee. So all you really need to find is some motivation.
