| Posted 4 months ago The amount of years it will take to become a "firemedic" depends on what state you live in. You will have to go through "Rookie" school and then onto college to obtain your fire science degree and it depends on if you will get a certificate or an associates as to how long you will have to go to "Medic" school-you will always have to continue your education to remain an active ff/medic.
