| Posted 6 months ago Backwards. You mean facing the streets? That is so they can pull straight out onto the roads when they have an emergency. It is quicker to be able to drive straight out of the bay. I hope that is the answer you were looking for. I may have misunderstood the question. |

| Posted 6 months ago If I’m getting the question right I think this may be the right answer. The pushing of the engine is a symbolic ceremonial thing. It is from back in the horse drawn pump days when firefighters would unhook the horses and push the engine/pump back into the bay.
