Posted about 1 year ago I would ask all newer members to look through all the Forums before posting a topic. There are more and more repeated topics getting posted. Odds are, especially if you are a newbie, your topic or question has already been posted with numerous answers under it. Thanks. Jeff D.

| Posted about 1 year ago chase1, is there a search feature we could offer so that newbies to the site can easily find older threads that might answer questions they would have initially? “Aut inveniam viam aut faciam.” |

| Posted about 1 year ago Yes, when you go to the forums page from the tab at the top, there is a search box. It will probably best work with a word or two, and not a complete sentence. Jeff D.

| Posted about 1 year ago Just a thought. Would it be possible to reorganize the forum into topics? General questions, training, how too..etc It may lead to less duplicate posts and more organized posting. |

| Posted about 1 year ago I apologize if I'm a repeat offender !! Sometimes what is listed as the topic, isn't what the topic is about at all. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Hey Moderators- Can you place a banner across the top that says "If you are new to FIRELINK please review all forums before you post a new topic". Almost everyday there is a new forum from someone wanting to know how to get started in Firefighting. And while I don't mind answering anyone questions, it does get old repeating the same thing over and over. I know I and others can just not answer them all but then they might not stay on this site thinking they are being ignored. Or maybe post a box with taking steps to become a firefighter in it, We could all put in some input. Just a suggestion to help alleviate the multiple thread issue on this subject and maybe others

| Posted about 1 year ago Severe weahter plays a big part in firefighting so I agree on topic. Hey Chase I notice on policelink they have a box like the one I suggested on how to become a police officer. So how do we start one for firefighting?

| Posted about 1 year ago One thing I noticed is that when one posts in a group and if it's not a private group it will post on the main page topic list . So if one posts in a forum and then in a group and then another group ; it posts 3 times. The more non-private groups you post in the more times it goes in the forum . If it's the same topic , for example, " What makes you post the same topic 6 times ?" as a topic , it will post there and every non-private group you post in, plus the main forum. This is what gets people mad . When you look at the Forum Topics and see the same subject multiple times. It is like getting the paper and seeing the same article on every page or changing the station on the tv and seeing the same show on every channel. |
