Posted 18 days ago Yesterday's shootings at Fort Hood military base were no doubt a tragic event. Do you think the government should classify this horrible attack as an act of terrorism? Why or why not? |

| Posted 18 days ago I would have to say it IS IN FACT an act of Domestic Terrorism! The only thing that makes it Domestic is the fact that the shooter was an American citizen! We know this because he is a member of the U.S. Armed forces! Let's not forget for a moment that the shooter has a name of Arab descent. Notice so far that all with the exception of one or two of the soldiers in the past few years who have "snapped" were of Arab descent. Sounds like a plot to me! Any time some idiot grabs a rifle and starts mowing down innocent people on american soil it is considered by our government to be an act of terrorism of some sort. This is exactly the kind of horror our soldiers are trying to give us freedom from, which was discussed in another forum by a rescently removed profile! |

| Posted 18 days ago While he did murder 13 people now, would it be considered terrorism if he were an American born citizen? Probably not, but more of a mass murder. To me, to be defined as an act of terrorism, it would normally be planned, and committed by non-citizens. Granted, he is from another country, and we probably don't share many of his beliefs, since he was technically a US citizen (for what that's worth now days-meaning it apparently doesn't take much any more to become one) and was serving in our military, I would only consider it terrorism if it was a planned attack, carried out by more than one person. Just my opinion, and we may all share many variations of the definitions used here. Regardless of what you call it, it was a sick and demented act of senseless murder on innocent people. What bothers me is the fact that he was in our military at all. Let alone that he was STILL in even when everyone appears to have known his views. The press and his family can twist his statements on his views all they want, but to me they speak for themselves. He is pro-Muslim, anti-war, and a psychiatrist that got into daily anti-war arguements with people. HELLO! While any one of these acts may be forced acceptance in our politically correct world, the combination of these facts makes him a clear hazard. To me, he should not only be not allowed to carry a weapon, but should not be "nurturing" anyone he spoke with as a patient. Is no one above him paying attention? So, yes it was a despicable act of violence, but I personally wouldn't rate it as terrorism by definition. I don't think it was a martyrdome act against the U.S. but more likely he got into another one of those arguements or harrassments in the processing facility and just snapped. Again, why is a psychiatrist carrying a weapon on base? Let alone 2? Jeff D.

| Posted 18 days ago No. My opinion here, he snapped and religion takes another hit for fervent followers. There are two kinds of pain, discipline and regret. You choose. Grab the nozzle and get in there.... If you're standing outside, it might as well be a dumpster fire. |

| Posted 18 days ago I would like more details into his past as to why he thought this was necessary. He is a U.S. citizen but it seems clear to me that he has many ARAB ties!! He was dressing in the full shrowd for the love of god!!!! He did want out of the military as soon as he was going to be deployed to Iraq. Like some of the 911 monsters we here in the US gave him all the training he needed!!! My question is when they were getting warning signs and put him on some of his own anti-pshycotic drugs and started an investigation why they did'nt finish it and let it go???? The Ohio house of horrors falls under the same catergory they had leads and calls and then did'nt follow up!! |

| Posted 17 days ago I do believe that it may have been an terrorist attack. Terrorism itself is doesnt mean you have to be islam. Anyone can commit a terrorist attack. This guy's intentions were obviously to harm a large group of people in a extreme violent way. The only difference is he didnt use a plane or a car full of explosives. He inflicted terror to everyone on that base. It's just my opinion. "Hell, these are Marines. Men like them held Guadalcanal and took Iwo Jima. Bagdad ain't shit." "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." United States Marine Corps |

| Posted 16 days ago He may not have been a member of Al Queda (sp) or the Taliban but his motives were pre-meditated. The act was a terrorst attack due to his belief in Islam. Similar instances occurred during Operation Iraqi Freedom too; doesn't anybody remember that? |

| Posted 16 days ago Citizenship has nothing to with terrorism (nor the reverse!) Ask all the Sean O'Reillys (IRA fanatic) of the world. With more respect than this statement engenders, I hope that nobody would be stupid or narrow-minded enough to limit your targets to those born outside your borders or naturalized therein. Randy Weaver. Paul Brennan and NORAID. Ted Kaczynski. Timothy McVeigh (and Terry Nichols, and a horde of others involved) The Freemen. The Montana Militia. Need I go on? At this time, there are terrorists, dedicated to their perverted version of Islam, who have gone to GREAT LENGTHS to emigrate from places such as Bosnia, Serbia, Herzegovina - ARYAN nations whose inhabitants have more blond hair and blue eyes than we do - and are placing themselves in our society. CIA-fanatic rantings? Hardly. I don't say that terrorists don't come from other countries - they most certainly DO come from Ireland, South Africa, Bosnia - and yes, most of them from the Middle East...but... It's FOOLISH - tantamount to suicide - to put borders on terrorists - because they certainly do not put borders on THEIR activities. |

| Posted 15 days ago it was an act of terror, my opinion of course. but look at the facts; it wasn't a suicide bomber, no. but he was intending on hurting as many people on that base as possible and, in turn, TERRORIZED the base by shooting numerous soldiers. to say he just "snapped" is just stupidity. there were, according to fox news, several "red flags" that should have been raised, but were obviously ignored ,, such as his view on suicidal bombers needing to be reveered and the fact that he was against the iraqi war on TERRORISM. his fellow military psychiatrists claimed that he had Post Traumatic Stress syndrome ,, but he had never even seen battle or even been deployed. "snapped"? i think not. this was clearly premeditated and was an act of treason, in my eyes, and should be delt with as if it were. these men and women woke up that morning not knowing what was going to take place, can you imagine the TERROR that they felt as they were being SHOT? |

| Posted 15 days ago As someone that lives on Fort hood, I hope they do find this terrorism. My husband was locked down for 9 hours, kids where locked down for more than 5, parent were horrifed and we were told to take cover away from windows and not answer the doors.
I hope and pray that NOONE ever has to go through the horrible massacre that he created. I honestly think they need to but I also think they need to keep muslims out of war. Im not downing them, im saying, the military is asking them to kill some of their own beliefs. You didnt see any Japs in Normady or any Chinese in WW2. ITs a conflict of interest and I do not want to have to look over my shoulder anymore. If anyone wants to know what they can do to help, please go to www.keepourheroessafe.org and there is a list. This is what I complied from talking to the chaplins. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. |

| Posted 15 days ago Well, actually we did have Japenese soldiers fighting the Japenese. As in every war we have ever fought, there have been members of their nation fighting for us. But, I wasn't at Normandy, and I'm not real sure where it is, but, I'm pretty sure we were fighting Germans then. However, I do agree that persons with interest on the opposing side should be screened a heck of alot better! My prayers are with you and your family! |

| Posted 14 days ago i think we ought to be protecting our own but we as americans can't but help those that need it we tend to forget about our own we think were safer here in the USA which we should be no questions asked.maybe he snapped?? maybe it was planed a very long time ago ??or it was an act of terriousm. if it was kill them all and let the good lord sourt them out .why i say that is we the american people loves to see everybody succeed , it don't matter who u are. to those that take advantage of our good nature to try to help everybody .the great USA aught to watch each others backs first then . then once were good then lets lend a hand . but if it was terr.hasn't the goverment kinda of forgot that we the people put them in charge to protect us?????????????????? so the question that should be asking did the goverment know about this ??????????????? like they knew about 9/11 .we the amercian people suffered ALL OF US |

| Posted 13 days ago Ok I usually leave my comments to myself however this needs a response! Where in our right minds would we even believe that the shooter would be reformed enough to be on one of our bases? When it comes to this outright act of terrioism I do believe that this person should face the most deadliest punishment of all at our hands. I am usually a very compassionate person however when it comes to our country I do believe we need to protect its soil and all of its people! I also feel we should just bomb the crap out of Iraq and get out! Over and done with! Haven't our people suffered enough?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
