Firefighter in Florida

Posted 18 days ago Hey all, I am just curious. Since I have graduated the academy, I have been applying EVERYWHERE in Florida but many of them I have just been sending in the application packets (resume and everything needed of course). 1) Should I personally be hand delivering these applications to the HR centers? 2) if so, should I dress in a suit/tie? I know I would wear a jacket /tie or suit when I am interviewed. 3) Is it ok to apply to FD while they are not hiring or are not in recruitment? Does it matter or should I wait until they are hiring to apply? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

| Posted 18 days ago I don't know how it is in Florida, but, I have found that hand delivery is the best approach. And wearing a suit and tie to a job interview where the job consists of hard work and getting dirty, just don't mix. Try a navy blue polo and and dark pants, or something that comes close to what their uniforms look like, but, not exactly like. They may want to see what you are going to look like when representing them. And I would apply till the ink runs dry. Just my findings, may not be true in your case. |
