| Description: | Inspired by a near fatal accident her husband suffered in the line of duty, Susan Farren gives an insightful and heartfelt look into the life of a firefighter's wife. She takes you on a journey of their life's story. How she never planned on being married to a fireman. How she spent days at a time without her husband raising their children. How she was welcomed into the comforting arms of the fire family immediately following her husband's accident and the support they provided. Susan has a sense of humor to go with life, being a paramedic before she married. For those who live in firefighter families, it is easy to say "Oh ya, been there, done that." For the rest it provides a rarely seen look into what the families of these brave men and women go through everyday. “I am confident, I am embarrassed, I am lonely, I am surprised, I am overworked, I am underpaid, I am . . . The Fireman’s Wife.” |

I absolutely loved this book. Very inspiring. I laughed most of the way through the book and had chills when she talks about the accident and finished the book with a warmed heart. A beautifully written memoir.
