| Description: | The American Heritage fire helmet is a traditional-style leather firefighter helmet that combines time-honored styling and craftsmanship with state-of-the-art advancements in design, leather tanning, and composites. The result is a low-profile leather helmet that is attractive, durable, and comfortable. Color won't chip Leather offers excellant thermal protection and durability, but not all leather helmets are equal. We process our leather with the latest chronium tanning techniques. This seals the protective qualities and provides optimum heat reflection. By coloring our helmets during the tanning process, there's no paint to chip. Fiberglass inner layer provides strength The American Heritage offers additional protection through our exclusive LeatherGlas molding process. This process molds the outer and inner layers of the leather shell with a fiberglass composite to deliver outstanding protection during extreme conditions. The leather is a molded one-piece construction. This is a superior to the layered process used by others. Unique size and fit adjustment options We've engineered a complete system of adjustments into the American Heritage to provide maximum comfort and a custom fit. The patented Center of Gravity adjustment system allows you to adjust the center of gravity to your preference and keeps it there. The ratcheting headband easily adjusts from size 5 1/2 and 9 1/2 and there are three positions for height adjustment. The American Heritage's headband is also cushioned with foam and covered with sleeve leather for additional comfort. With the American Heritage, you're fighting the fire, not your helmet. |

This is by far the best helmet that I've ever had. It combines tradition with the most comfortable and adjustable suspension I've ever used. And, it's LEATHER!!!

The Paul Conway American Heritage is the only helmet I would ever purchase for myself, and I did. It has a great fit and is very comfortable. It's very durable and I haven't noticed much wear or deterioration from fires or day to day use.

out of all the helmets I have put on my little head. One that is full of comfort and will still protect my head is all I care about but with this helmet it has everything. there is no going wrong with this one great buy

This is a nice helmet, it stands up to heat well. It can be a little heavier then other helmets but it is well adjustable. I am not a fan of goggles and of burned numerous flipp down shields (borks).

Not a bad helmet, but for the weight, why not go with a traditional cairns N5A?

Great. This helmet has served many years for me. I just wish the shields would last that long.

Awesome helmet. Stays on with only the ratchet as it sits down lower on my head. The Cairns helmet sits so high. This one reduces fatigue.
