This is a dependable unit but we also have had the battery issue, and every time we get a new batch the have upgraded the software so we have to get a new program to do any frequency changes

It is a great Radio. It is the only radio that my dept. uses. Very dependable, as long as you keep the battries conditioned with the help of the Motorola Battery Center. Other wise I love it. Crisp Clear sound in and out.

top notch quality, has good range and from my experiences it's very durable compared to other radios mine has been dropped from ladders, has been wet several times, but it still works

These are pretty good little hand helds...we also have two of them. We have NOT had the battery issue that has been mentioned and they seem to hold their charge for quite a while. They are very duable...one of ours gets abused more than the other. The sound is very clear!

This radio has never let me down. I have the speaker mic on mine, and can pretty much always hear what's going on.
