Unbelievably easy to open even after it has been in my turnout pants pocket for a while and through quite a few fires and a bunch of just harsh treatment from cutting battery cables and seatbelts to plastic and thin metal and it is still working great and it opens with just a little flick. And no I have never bothered to clean or even oiled it. I know I have mistreated it butit hasn't effected it at all. Get one!

As a whitewater guide, I've never met a better knife. Cuts rope, webbing, everything you could ask for. If it gives you an idea of how much I use this orange monster, I had it in the pocket of my tuxedo when I got married.
