We have a newer Pierce and love it. Ours has a top mount pump panel which I like better cause you can see better. Cant say much bad about Pierce though.

We have one of the engines in my fire deparment. In my experience with them they are great pieces of equipment if well maintained, which ours are. we have, however, had problems with the computer, but a tech came up from Birmingham and fixed the problem, now it runs like new.

I LOVE THIS TRUCK! Make sure you take out the headsets so that you won't get static when you are on the radio.Other than that it's very good and reliable.

Wake County in NC has been ordering these engines for about two/three years now. Both departments that I work part time for have them and I can honestly say that they have not lived up to the Pierce Name. They are on light weight chasis. The opinion is that they are carrying the same amount of weight on a lighter chasis. Our Pierce rep has said that the chasis is designed for a FDs that run less than 300 calls a year. Both departments run about 1000 calls a year a piece. I don't care for them.

I love Pierce fire trucks, their the only thing that we keep in the station now. We have a 1985 model Pierce that was bought for us brand new and we have jus recently purchased a Pierce velocity 75 fd alluminum ladder with a 1750 GPM Single Stage pump and the 85 model will pump and run just as hard and just aslong as the brand new truck. That says alot for Pierce!
