It is what my department is using curently, because the cheif is freinds with the local distributor. Gear is Gear it all comes from the same begining Dupont, Southern Mills, Gore, And 3M. the differences are how it is put together and who put there name on the final product. I beleive most departments are using the brand they are using because of the price it cost when the bids came in.

I use to be a diehard for Globe turnouts. Departments I have been with over the past 10 years have used Morning Pride. I find little difference between the brands I have used. I tend to agree with hfd70c3's comments, all things being equal, it often comes down to low bid.

I give it a 4. They have really figured out how to stitch it all together to give you the MOST maneverabillity. I've been wearing it for 10 years now and just gotten used to how well I can move. I have some globe gear at my part time gig and it does not allow me to move around near as well....in short...it sucks, but with morning pride you can have a total custom fit that I think will reduce your chance of burns. The one down size that I can think of is that it really seems to be a little heavier (with all the new harnesses etc...)....hmmm...maybe I need to reduce my tool box in my pockets?...nah!!

i put 3 because its the best by weight, maneuverability and yes it does repell alot of heat but thats part of the problem. This turnout gear is getting better n better every time they come out with a new line that its jsut making us think we are able to stay in there longer n longer hence not realize piossible hazards such as flashover or whatnot. I love the gear to death im currently on my 3rd set but thats just something to keep a heads up about. Kudos to morning pride

I love my turnout gear! I believe our department partly decided on this brand of turnout due to the bloodborne pathogen resistance. We have a pretty good sized stretch of a 4 lane state highway in our area, hence quite a few MVC's. Of course there's always the bottom line, any PPE is better than none.

Best gear around. Our dept. has expermented with other brands, but continues to use this gear based on several facts. one being the life of the gear seems to last forever.

I love my PFD gear which is morning pride. It's light and very effective. I it's much better than what my other Dept uses. They use Fire Master and it's heavy and uncomfortable.

we have all morning pride gear. it is all our cheif will buy, glad too. it is top notch and I would not wear any thing else in a burning structure. i was just outfitted with new stuff from morning pride, its there new kahki color, and has a bunch of new features such as the easy grip pcket flaps and the built in drag harnis.

I have never had such bad gear in my life. It is very dangerous. many of our firefighters have slipped and fell down our aerial ladder because the pants don't allow for enough movement in the knees. and the wrap around collar is a pain and gets in the way most of the time. Also it is very heavy and soaks up every bit of sweat and water.
We are specing out new gear and it will not be morning pride.
morning pride price quote was over $3000 for pant and coat.- Flag as inappropriate

My company currently uses this product. I must say that I love it but I must agree with a previous post, the way that the pants are cut there is not a lot of room to life your leg up to climb. At least I have trouble with that...I have found that I have hike my pants up to climb a ladder...and its hard to get the collar to put.

I would put Globe gear up against Morning Pride any day. Globe is a lot higher quality. Still have many sets of Morning Pride in our station but only till we cycle through and get them replaced. Morning Pride Gear has not held up well at all. I disagree about the low bid you get what you pay for and in my opinon you can not put a price on life.

I love how safe and cozy I am in these turnouts. It doesn't seem to weigh as much, either. It gets dirty but doesn't get sticky and hard like other turnouts. It will last for years!

I don't see where people are having issues with the life span of this product. Personally I think this may be due to improper fit or just a defective product item. Almost all of the gear we have is MP stuff and it has lasted two or three lifetimes. As a volly dept a large majority of the stuff we get is hand me downs, and this stuff is still totally functional and tough as nails. The key to any good gear is upkeep, and at my station I keep the gear clean, dry and functional because you never know at a volly station when your next set will come.

I have had this gear for about 2 years now. I was not impressed with the stiching and overall comfort. The seams started coming apart about a month after i got mine. Compared to other gear i have tried it doesnt allow for as much mobility as some of the other brands. I still use it, it has got me through many fires but i would liike to try something else.

This is our standard issue turnout gear. I have had a set since 2000. There are other manufactures that have much better gear. To me its about the moisture barrrier. Moisture barriers is the key piece of turnout gear and I beleive that Globe is the best.
