I've seen this little gizmo riggin used in the field.. seems to do well.. i like to purchase, and see how well this would work in an extricaion situation.

This tool looked interesting at first when we got them on our engines. I would never bring it into a fire with me though. I think of it this way, if I was fighting a structure fire and I became trapped in the structure could I use it to get out if need be? It would probably be good for forced entry and things of that nature, but I would rather have an axe, a halligan tool or a gatorback in a fire. My Captain took us out back a few months ago with this tool and an axe and had us try with both to split some logs to show which would require less time and effort......the axe won. I like how you can adjust the length, but you can get more leverage with a halligan tool for prying. It seems like it would work well for only limited applications. But it defiantly is a very innovative tool; it just doesn’t have the power of other fire-service tools. But that’s just my opinion.

They're OK, but small. When did you use one Supertrooper???

If is anything like it's ancestor, the Pry-Axe, it is very handy little door popper. I used mine quite frequently. And the price is considerable less than what I paid for mine. As others have said, it doesn't have the power of a good axe, but the extendable handle/ pry bar was very useful on door frames.

We have something like this on our engine. We call it the BEIHL tool. This is tool has an extendable handle (nice) but just doesn't have the umph that the axe and heligan bar do. It's compact so you can easily use it in a closet but for overhauling an intire room this tool takes a lot longer. We pulled the one off our truck (it was just taking up space) no one ever grabbed it. It does however make for a nice lite tool for search and rescue but if the sh..... hit the fan I would want something with a little more stability (when extended the slide end seems to wobble). There alot of things to consider when picking a tool for the job at hand. While I'm doing this this tool never comes to mind

great tool that everyone should have

We were given one of these to "try out" one of our guys broke it in a matter of minutes. It had the cutter end and he was trying to cut a hood on a car with it.

Just as useful to me as the halligan just not as heavy/ long, it works were the halligan can't get onto. It is quiet possibly the best personal tool made...that's why i owned one. i sent mine to Iraq with my dad's friend so he could use it for "Knock & Talks"

Perfect tool for that situation where you don't have time to grab the large heavy one!

I keep this in the door pocket of the first due type 6 engine if i can grab it quick it will get me started. Kind of lightweight but realy handy.

This is one tough little tool...and you can use it for some many different functions. You have got to get one if you don't already have one.
