Excellent handle if you stay with tradition. All tools are now coming with fiberglass handles to prevent breaking and lower maintenace. I have 2 spare handles in my locker in case of emergency.

Absolutely, I use and abuse my tools and wood is just stronger. Yeah fiberglass doesn't break as easy and is low maintenance(what guy doesn't like low maintenance) but they bend too easily when pressure is really exerted.
