The ones we have are half and half depending on the truck with the fiberglass handles and the solid hickory handles. But both work very well.

I love my axe.... But being tiny sometimes hinders things. So I actually cut-off3" of the hickory handle end. It just makes it earier for me to handle.

Great tool to carry no matter what the situation.

this is a handy tool.

still have mine with the solid hickory handle, as well as my double blade. the pick head has served me well in the field i'm in now, when it comes to demolition during remodeling work.
