TARENTUM, Pa. — Allegheny County police have charged a Tarentum mother with setting her Bakerstown Road home on fire early Monday morning in an attempt to kill herself and two young children.
Terra Lynn, 36, smelled of gasoline when police questioned her at West Penn Hospital after she and her two children, an 8-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter, were rescued by police and firefighters, said Allegheny County police Lt. Jeffrey Korczyk.
Korczyk said Lynn was having problems with a pending divorce.
Lynn was arraigned and held on $75,000 straight cash bond. She was taken to the Allegheny County Jail for a behavioral evaluation.
The children are now in the custody of their father, Korczyk said.
