#8: Nashville, Tennessee
Although a large city by Tennessee’s standards, Nashville has a small town feel with a few sky scrapers. If you like music, then Nashville could be your best bet for a summertime vacation. By day, grab a cheeseburger in paradise at Rotier’s and then a chocolate shake down the street at Elliston Soda Shop. Across the street, wander through the campus of Vanderbilt and even catch some sun on the main lawn while being surrounded by a beautiful arboretum. Head down to Market Street at night and walk into to one of many joints with live music. Duck into to The Wildhorse Saloon and do a line dance before heading to Printer’s Alley for several more local music acts. Opryland is just outside Nashville, complete with a theme park and musical shows. The people are nice, the food is great, and there’s not many cities in the U.S. that provide so many opportunities to see live music.
Never been to Greece but traveling to Nashville? Then you must stop by the one of the cities best attractions, The Parthenon, the only full-size replica of the Greek Parthenon in the world. The building and the Athena statue are both full-scale replicas of the Athenian originals. The re-creation of the 42-foot statue Athena is the focus of the Parthenon just as it was in ancient Greece.
