EMS Week 2011: Tributes Across the Country

AP: The FDNY unveiled two new EMS posters on May 11 to promote EMS Week 2011. The first poster features EMS Lt. Kim Weaver and 6-year-old Shamia Jones. The young girl was choking on a piece of candy after a party in 2006, when Lt. Kim Weaver was flagged down by the girl’s family and saved her life. The second poster features Paramedic Rowan Allen and Bryan Lindsay. In 1991, Mr. Lindsay was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a car. He suffered traumatic head injuries, but recovered, graduating from college in 2010 — with Paramedic Allen attending his graduation barbeque.
