Incident Description: Firefighter Hunsinger, while responding to a brush fire call in his personal vehicle, was involved in a collision and passed away from injuries sustained from the accident.
Editor update: WWAY3 News Channel is reporting that Firefighter Hunsinger was speeding (65mph in a 55mpg zone) on his way to a brush fire call when the incident occurred. They reported, “One investigator told an area newspaper it appeared Hunsinger was distracted by something when he swerved onto the shoulder, then over-corrected, which put him into oncoming traffic.”
