Police: Son Set Father on Fire; Reason Unknown

POLK COUNTY, FL – A 58-year-old man is in critical condition this morning at Orlando Regional Medical Center after his son doused him with gas in Polk County and set him on fire, officials say.
Ronald W. Harris, Jr., 37, is accused of dousing his father with gasoline on Sunday and using a lighter to ignite the gas, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies in Polk County responded at about 7:18 p.m. Sunday after getting a report from a residence in Davenport about an adult male being set on fire.
“The suspect fled the scene and Polk County Sheriff’s deputies began a search of the area. The suspect was located behind some nearby businesses in the pre-dawn hours and taken into custody for questioning,‘’ the Sheriff’s Office said in a report.
The younger Harris is accused of attempted first degree murder and arson. He will be taken to the Polk County Jail and booked into the facility this morning.
