GWINNET, GA – Searchers late Friday morning found the body of a Gwinnett County firefighter reported missing earlier this week.
Late Thursday, David Carr’s Jeep Wrangler was found parked at Leita Thompson Memorial Park on Woodstock Road in Roswell.

Roswell police spokeswoman Lisa Holland could not say how Carr died, but said his death was being investigated as a suicide.
Carr was last seen around noon on Monday when he left his Woodstock home after reportedly telling his wife, Colleen Grainger, that he wanted to commit suicide.
Carr, 47, didn’t show up for work on Tuesday.
His Jeep was found about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Roswell police spokeswoman Lisa Holland.
“There was a jogger that was in the park, and he was parked next to the Jeep and was astute enough to realize that that was the Jeep from the news that he had seen,” Holland said.
Police and firefighters from several jurisdictions, as well as a Sandy Springs police K-9 unit, began searching the park just after 5 a.m. on Friday.
