DETROIT — Four Detroit firefighters who were injured when a burning building collapsed remained hospitalized as the ATF joined an investigation into the suspicious blaze.

Two of the firefighters remained in critical condition Saturday, The Detroit News reported. A fifth firefighter was treated and released from a hospital after Friday’s fire.

The firefighters suffered injuries ranging from a strained back to a spinal cord injury when the two-story commercial building collapsed.

Fire personnel arrived at the scene at 5 a.m. and extinguished the blaze, but it rekindled more than two hours later. Fire officials said they believe the second fire was arson.

The ATF says about 30 agents were at the building Saturday.
