D.C. fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says a fire truck responding to a fire at a library at George Washington University was involved in a crash with two other vehicles at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Three people in the two cars were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. No firefighters were hurt.
The intersection of 14th Street and Constitution Avenue, Northwest, is closed as police investigate the crash.
The fire at the library ended up being a small fire in the heating and air conditioning system. Piringer says it was quickly contained.
