“Mr. Reilly grabbed the bouncer and said, ’Don’t stop it. Let them do what they want to do with this guy,’” Richardson said.

Emmel, 28, had insisted he was not at the bar, an account supported by Warnock and Reilly, the sources said.

“He wasn’t there – he was home at the time when this happened,” said his father, Bill Emmel, adding that his son was valedictorian of his FDNY academy class.

Warnock and Reilly, assigned to Ladder 174, were suspended for 30 days without pay. Warnock, a 2003 medal of valor winner, joined the FDNY eight years ago. Reilly joined 13 years ago.

Investigators have said that additional firefighters could be charged if a grand jury is convened in the coming weeks.
