Coming to an end but will be working during the summer as well with administrative duties. Trying to prepare for the extra cuts next year and what programs we will have to work with as well as curriculum practices. Had a tough weekend and trying to work things out personally at this point but will manage.

Hello babe..Well I actually did not think that I was going to see you New Year's eve. Per our intentions were to stay home. It was great to see you and JillyBean that night though. Though under different circumstances would have been better. Love you babe...Hope you have a great New Year....

Livin’ in the Fast Lane
What’s the code? What’s the code? What’s the code? Ah, zero seven, zero four, zero eight. Beep! I hear the door unlock itself. As I open the door the immediate smell of cleaners, gasoline, and a hint of smoke engulf my body. My shoes make a sharp squeaking noise with every step I make. All of a sudden all I can think of is that scene in The Karate Kid, when Mr. Miyagi kept repeating, "Wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off." I am suddenly brought back to reality by the abrupt bang of the door slamming shut behind me. I can feel my creamy chocolate eyes settle on what lies before me. My gosh, am I drooling? Most people might find it a common occurrence to start drooling when a platter of mouth watering Cheese Danishes are placed in front of them, but come on, am I really drooling over a room full of vehicles? I suppose that when you spend the majority of your free time in this room with these rigs, you have earned the right to drool over them.
To my left the company ambulance sits parked and I can feel the heat escaping from under the hood from a recent call. Directly behind it sits the fire company's Utility truck. Strangely, from where I am standing it resembles a bulldog with its bulky build. On my right is the fire company's Engine and behind it is the Tanker. I now turn my attention to my favorite apparatus, the Rescue. Our most commonly used fire truck; I have grown quite partial to this apparatus. Looking at each truck, their red paint gleams off of them like a ray from the sun. Just looking at all the rigs brings a smile to my face and i can just see the pride of this company being well displayed through their beautiful set of emergency vehicles.
I venture further into this room to find rows of bunker gear lining the walls. Black boots with traces of ashes, suet, and other dirt and grime, yellow bunker pants with a matching jacket, and a helmet with the proud logo of the New Bloomfield Fire Company 8 are all neatly set up for quick dressing. I walk around the oak racks skimming my hand over the gear, the smell of smoke lingering around me. Some sets of gear put off such a stench that I can almost taste the smoke. I can hear the scanner above me full of static. Off in the distance of one of the offices I can hear voices and when I listen closer the faint sound of the vacuum arises from the basement. I turn around to stare at the trucks. The sleek appearance of each one sets off reflections throughout the room, and it seems so tranquil.
Suddenly, as if I had spoken too soon the small black pager on my left hip begins to go off, releasing the Fire Company's tone. The instant adrenaline rush sent my heart on a marathon run. I ran to the front door grabbing my oversized red bag and pulling out its contents. I get dressed as though I am being timed. As I am getting dressed my fellow firefighters surround me mimicking my actions. Within a matter of minutes we are fully dressed and loaded into our assigned apparatus. The garage door opens and the sound of sirens begin to fill the area. As we exit the firehouse I realize how passionate I am about this place and how much this one room means to me.
