About Me
I’ve been around for a few years and in the Fire Service for 32. I was raised in a Fire House and never knew anything else. My Grandfather, Father, both Uncles all on the job. Married my friend Richie’s Kid sister 25 years ago. Richie and I met at a fire when he ate too much smoke and barfed on me. My wife’s father and both her brother on the job. Richie was also Lt. for NYPD ESU. My youngest son, on the job. In my house it’s the never ending story. My poor, poor wife. Born and raised on Long Island in New York. Work “in the City” for 20 years. We moved to Huntsville Alabama area in 1997. It was a good move. It’s nice living here. I serve as Chief of Department for a County Volunteer Fire Department. We have about 20 members, 2 Class A engines, 1 Rescue Truck, a Brush/ Fast Attack (we build) and 2 EMS responders. We run about 325 – 350 call a year. We still have most of our founding members. I love history. Especially Fire History. Coming from Long Island, some of the departments go back to per-revolutionary times. Great history.
