GRADUATION IS 6TH DECEMBER AT THE BATTLE CREEK KELLOGG ARENA FOR ALL THAT CAN MAKE IT TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT (those of you in Michigan that is.) Starts at 1200 hours.

Doing the count down now...we get to go get him on the 25th and get to keep him till the 29th and then graduation is on the 6th. Holding my breath. He has to have a job or ship date in order to graduate and he has neither at this time. He went to MEPS last week and they sent him away till he has an allergy test to make sure he wasn't allergic to pineapple. Done and Cleared, but still no date to go back to MEPS to get sworn in and a solid ship date. He's thinking January 20th will be the day he goes to boot camp if he can get sworn in.

This is the school Sam in at.
This is said to be the last class to graduate from this school as the Michigan will not pay it's 25% to keep it open. The Fed. Gov. will pay 75% of annual costs to keep it open, but Michigan will not kick in the other 25%.
Private funding is keeping it open so that this class can finish their courses and not get sent home early without completion

Sam asked me, while we were at MEPs Friday, to let ya'll know that he appreciates the letters and cards that he's recieveing. Unfortunately he has not had enough time to write back as he's been taking SAT's and GED tests and the whole book camp experience goin on (He's lost 70 pounds and is running a 5 min 45 sec mile and a 9 mile marchs...you got the picture) He sends his thanks and his appologies and is counting down the days till he gets to come home. If there are enough days between coming home and leaving for the Army he'll try to shoot ya'll thank you's.

He's still gettin after me about getting people to write to him so here's his address again.

OH yeah and you can see updated pictures of Sam on my photo albums. He's lost 55 pounds and is running a mile in 5 min 45 sec. He had us sign enlistment papers this past weekend.

Everyone feel free to look this school up on line to see what it is about, he's really working hard to accomplish finishing. This is the first time he's been away from the family EVER and he'd like nothing more than to quit and come home, but he knows this is in his best interest.

Sam just called. He has filled out two applications to local fire departments here and is asking about joining the USMC too.
