About Me
I grew up terrified of fire. I didn't like birthday candles. (They scared me! Especially when my mom tricked me with the kind that reignite after you blow them out. I started crying.) Even into my adulthood I was morbidly afraid of fire. (I was a complete mess during the 2003 Cedar Fire.) Then I did my first ridealong ever, with a local fire department, as a requirement for my EMT class, back in '05. I got to see some of the things they do as firefighters, explore the equipment and apparatus, and talk about what it means to be a firefighter. They were the first to ever tell me that if I was scared of fire, I should go "kick its ass." That really made me stop and think. By the end of that semester, I had decided I was going to give it a shot.

I think I still have a healthy respect for fire. We all need to in order to stay safe. But now, instead of being terrified of it, I'm excited. I'm still very much a beginner, and I've got a long ways to go in the service, but I look forward to the challenges. I'll take this job over any indoor job, any day, hands down.

I personally believe the hottest chicks are the ones who know they don't have to take their clothes off or act like bimbos to get attention.
