Hey I had a chance to go back and look in your profile, it the one where there a black cross and ff kneeling down, the badge with the flag or flag thats a badge, and the flag that states don't burn my flag and I won't piss on you. So actually there were three.
Last night was rough but not as bad as Tuesday night, although we were hit with 3 traumas, the two serious will be ok. Some lessons that EMS anf FIre personnel, me being that I am one but work in an emergency room, and see a lot of patients brought in by ambulance is that if it is a crash and the person ireguardless of where they are in the vehicle, seatbelted or not, the m.o.i. needs to be stressed and the constant thought to "What is the best interest to this, my patient"
The girl had a fractured frontal lobe skull fracture, she was boarded and collared when she came in. The man I took care of, was not boarded and did not have a collar when he came in , had a fracture to L-4, and a pulmonary contusion, he was int he back seat not seatbelted and the m.o.i. was the vehicle hit a brick building, first it had rolled three times proir to hitting building and after the Fire and EMS got the patients out the vehicle caught fire.
So I hope everyone now takes into consideration and asks themselves what is the best treatmnet for thsi patient...my patient, until care is handed over to hospital personnel.

A Fireman's Life
A fireman's life is one big surprise,
Usually he laughs, sometimes he cries.
There's always stress, toil and strife,
Hoping he's good enough to save just one life.
His wife understands, when he misses dinner,
If he runs out of church, don't think he's a sinner.
Answering a call, is tops on his list,
Regretting each one he's ever missed.
He tries and tries, but can't make us see,
The happiest men, still work for free.
Jumping from bed, fighting the cold,
Knowing what to do, without being told.
He rushes to the station, jumps on a truck.
Depending on skill, never on luck.
Putting his life on the line, for an unknown friend,
Hoping and praying, it won't be the end.
"The Bravest Men in the World", the title is fitting,
They all do their best, never come close to quitting.
Next time you see them, all their lights blinking,
Take just a minute, to think what they're thinking.
It's a hard job, so show them you care,
And help them out, with a little prayer.
