Roads and Friends
So many roads, so many people. several choices, free choices.
Being careful in picking both is wise.
We travel short and long journeys together with both.
Signals appear with both and it's important that you use them appropriately.
Crossroads appear in both. Sometimes leading in another direction or needing to back up .
Both need taken care of as potholes in our paths occur in both.
Every once in a while you get a curve. It's up to you how to handle that curve.
When you find a good one, you never want to change and become used to the way they are.
You get used to how they feel, how your wheels turn with them.
Both have ups and downs.
Some are narrow and winding, some direct and straightforward with their approach.
But at the end of the day, you feel good when the one you know best finds you home.

Somethings I think I think (Octoberized)
Many years ago, one of my favorite newspaper columnists was a gentleman named Phil Musick. Occassionally, he would write an article titled the same way as I did mine today. I enjoyed most of those articles. Here's another version of mine.
October brings grilled cheese, chili, and other comfort foods that are good for the soul.
The temperature changes remind me of my dad and his sweaters, and Mister Rogers too. May they both rest in peace!
October brings leave color changes, wind shift changes, and we become a season older, and the beauty of life is enriched.
Pumpkins, pumpkin spiced coffee, pumpkin pies and pumpkin rolls, does it get much better than that?
October starts a quarter of giving; Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, to name a few.
October signifies traditional seasons too. The seasons of Football and Hockey are underway!
Falling on a pile of leaves eventually leads to the making of snow angels.
Fun memories of haunted stories, haunted houses, and haunted hayrides are recalled and created.
October brings added sweetness. Children in costumes, candy bars, candy corn and candied apples.
Flannel sheets, shirts and blankets adds to the warmth of autumnal sun.
I'm only stopping here because I need a new rake to pile some leaves.

Our friends are the stars of our universe. Some brighter than others, but when the right ones are brought together, makes for some beautiful constellations.

As I get older, I seem to be less intolerant of irresponsible people
Topping that list of irresponsibility is deadbeat dads
Sometimes when you extend that olive branch you get smacked with it
The sun rising on a cloudless day is a beautiful thing
Having said that, I'm glad I work midnights so I see more of them
My kids,grandkids and my friends keep my heart warm and alive with love
Self infliction of pain does not change much and just adds to the initial pain you had
Sometimes working long hours is therapeutic for me
E-cards are a great way to stay in touch with friends and loved ones
The attendance at the new Pttsburgh Casino will probably surpass that of the Pittsburgh Pirates
I have become a little better with the text messaging
Retrotelevision is a good thing especially for recalling good times with my Gram and the "Waltons"
I only stop here to answer a text message

Somethings I think I think.......
You may know this already, but, there is no respect for anyone or anything anymore.
Life is too short. Believe what they say and value everyday as if it was your last.
As we get older, our attendances at funerals increases.
Coffee is a good thing. Especially on a midnight shift.
It's been a while since I last had a chewy chocolate chip cookie.
There is nothing more touching or meaningful than holding the hand or getting a hug from a toddler who simply loves you because you are there.
How is the economy ever going to get better if we keep on with the needless spending?
With that, maybe it's time we take charge of what we pay those polticians.
Recalling memories is special. Watching and creating memories is incredibly more special.
Facebook is the adult version of MySpace.
I have to get in better shape. My body mass index is indicating that I'm obese at 218 lbs.
Listening and singing to songs that I have on Playlist has helped me get lost mentally for a bit.
Moms are a great resource to have.
If you are reading this, you are my friend and I appreciate that you are.
I'm only stopping here because I need more coffee and to plan my exercise regime into my life.

DEFINITION OF INDEPENDENCE: not subject to control by others; not requiring or relying on something else. Those who sacrificed for our Country enabled us to be independent and we do rely on those who maintain that freedom for us on a daily basis, here and abroad. To all of them, THANK YOU!!!! Thank you to all of our military personnel for keeping us safe and independent!
