I hear ya, I just do not understand it. I love doing what I do with the company and I would have to hate to leave if they close and lock the doors. I am sure it is all hot headed talk right now so we will see hwat happens. But.....the polictics needs to stay out of the company.
It went to another station in the district where they have one hydrant in the whole town. I guess they feel they can be more efficient if they can run the water to a fire scene rather than use tankers. 1500' does not make much of a difference if you ask me when it comes to distance. We are in a hard tight spot too because now the three Chiefs in our department want to quit which will leave us with nothing. We only have 11 members. That will make it 8 with no leadership. I told my buddy that we will keep running calls until we are told to close the doors. It is a terrible thing but what do you do?
We love our old Ford. She is our second out but she is dormant right now. The commissioners thought it would be a good idea to take the 1500' of 5 in off the back and give it to another department so she does not have any 5 in supply line right now. It is a shame but what do you do?
