This morning was a bad one. We had a code and I knew the man very well. I got to take my first ride in the back of the ambulance standing upright, and help work on the patient. Unfortunately we couldn't save him. I've been kind of down all day. I know we can't save them all but we were there so quick that I thought maybe that would make the difference. These are the days you wonder if all of the training you go through is actually worth it. I'm sure I will feel better later.
I know what you mean about feeling as though you have known people for a long time. Maybe we met in another life? You're a great friend and an easy person to talk to. I wish you luck in everything you do in your life.

OH and Steve and I are getting a bit more serious about training me to apply for a FF/EMS possition. Now that I am going to be 40...LOL It will not be his department, they do not have women on their department...more about that later maybe.

We have a lot going on right now actually. We just had 5/6 kids and my mom over for the weekend and are in process of cleaning up after that and painting the kitchen, laundry room and bath room. Steve got a call today asking him if he'd like a promotion to SGT, but he will have to change from his current unit to a non deployable unit. That would just break both our hearts at this point. LOL and he will have to go away to school for a few months to Ft McCoy Wisconsin. But his pay will increase about 6-8 hundred dollars a month for active duty and his drill pay will go up about 2 hundred when he isn't on active duty orders.
Thanks for stopping by and checking in on us. We are so glad to be back, we missed FL and our FL friends.
