- About Me
- I just joined our local fire department. I have been in the fire dept. auxiliary for 12 years and was voted in as president this year. I am finishing up my Firefighter 1 training and am looking forward to Firefighter Survival in a few weeks.
Our fire dept is quite small. We have 52 members currently. We have 5 trucks. Two pumpers ( #31 & #10 ), a tanker ( #50 ), a rescue truck ( #66 ) and an ems explorer ( #65 ).
As soon as the EMT classes for our county start I would like to get into them and eventually go back to school for Paramedics.
My dream job would be working on Mercy Flight which is our heli in this area. ( As I said....DREAM job !! )

*** May 10, 2008 Today was my last day of Firefighter 1 training. I scored a 91% on my final exam and have passed the class. I am excited that I have passed but I am saddened that the class is over. I have learned a lot in the past 3 months but there is so much more to learn. I greatly appreciate our instructors and the time they have taken with us. They pushed me to do my absolute best and I will be forever greatful to them. Thank you VERY much R.J. Morgan, Jeffrey Elsenheimer Jr. and Larry Babcock. You guys are the greatest !! And thank you R.J. for pushing me as hard as you did. BRING ON THE MAZE !! ***

*** May 31,2008 was the last day of Firefighter Survival. I passed the class. I am excited being that going down a ladder head first scared the pants off me !! ***I started EMT classes on Sept 3rd. As of November 9th, I passed my practical exams and am gearing up for my 10 hours clinical time so I can take my state exam. To my Instructors : Jan, Aleta and Milissa, thank you all so much. Thank you for pushing me and for having the faith in me that I did not have myself. I appreciate everything you all have done and for the learning experience. I will never forget any of you.***

***I took my exam for EMT-B on November 20th. I got my results this past Saturday Dec 20th. 83%, so I am now a New York State Certified EMT-B.

*** Took Fire Police training on March 14th,2009. Just need to be sworn in. Signing the books with our village and the mayor will do the swearing...( lol )

TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS: I thought I was back on here after a few months away, so what happens??? My computer decided to have a nervous breakdown.
