About Me
I started out in Search and Rescue in Archuleta County in 1988 I love serving my community and working in the woods. I earned my NASAR Sar tech II and instructor certs. White Water Rescue Tech., ICE Rescue Tech., Rope Rescue Tech., and last but not least Dive Rescue. I started in Law enforcement and was a Deputy Sheriff in Archuleta County after four years of Honorable service in the United Stated Marine Corps. I spent 8 years as a Deputy and in that time I learned about Wildland fire (In Colorado the sheriff is statutorily responsible for wildfires, and Search and Rescue in the unincorporated areas of the County) I could not get enough. Being outdoors is a great part of my life. My wildland certs. are: Strike team engine, Crew, Engine, Dozer, Fireing, Boss. IC 4 and I am a C-faller. I started Volunteering with Pagosa Fire and worked my way through to Fire Fighter II, Hazmat Technician, Confined space rescue,and my EMT B IV. I found that I made a better firefighter than a Deputy so then started a wildland fire company with my wife in 2004 and work as a Firefighter Medic Reserve for DFRA(started in 2007),and LPFD (started in 2005), to keep the fire bug at bay in the winter months. I also still keep my law enforcement and work and a part time officer and ERT Medic for the local tatical team with the Pagosa Springs Police Department. I am loving life and living the Dream.

    Hey Karn! The camping trip was Awesome!!!! I feel soooooo refreshed!!! It rained the last day but that just added some more adventure! I was prepaired with a tarp and tie-downs! I built a fire all by myself and then cooked hamburgers over it! I was a proud momma bird who fed her baby birds! lol! I kicked butt! I was proud of myself! I found a great lil get-away now so I can keep myself grounded from here on out! Moving to Indiana has been a difficult transition until now.
