  marty to answer your question no we didn't. we were confind to the base on standby waiting for all hell to break lose. we thaught the russians would intervene and things would excalate from there-------thankfully we were wrong. i was lucky enough to go to berlin twice once b4 the wall came down and see the old east berlin and again about 3 weeks after the wall came down and to see the happiness of the germans was unreal matched only by the kuwaiti's when we arrived in kuwait city during the 1st gulf war, dont think i've ever been kissed,hugged and thanked that much. well thanks for the comment but as i said below i'm still not convinced that as a non firefighter i have much to offer this site other than support for you all and respect

  this is the last post or addition to this page by me----------after lots of careful thaught i have decided i have nothing to add to this site as i am not a fireperson. you all have my total respect for what you do but i cannot begin to understand what you go through to do what you do.--------------so to finish you all take care,stay safe and may your god go with you

  to introduce myself------ladyfighter08 is my other half. i dont do fire and i have my personal reasons for that. however i do give my total support and respect to the firefighters by being an active member of the local fire dept auxillary and am currently the vice president after 5 years service. i am a brit living in the usa and love this country as 2nd only to my own. i was in the royal air force for 11 years including the 1 st gulf war dec 90 to june 91 and germany when the berlin wall came down to name a couple of places.

  my wife is the firefighter of the family and i cannot begin to say how proud of her i am but those spouses out there of firefighters out there will understand what i mean. anyway if anyone wants to ask any questions about me they can------whats the worst that can happen lol
