All is not well in the wild lands of New York State from Long Island to upstate more bad crimes are being committed, and our responders are being exposed to more chances of being injured or worse. A girl was found in the state land near here that was Monday evening could have been there since early Sunday morning, still alive but barely after a week in the hospital. Please be aware of your surroundings when your out here in the wild lands, even ones that live here have eyes in the back of their heads. Do Not go a field alone, cell phones do not work out here in all places neither does fire radios work well or at all.

Hi I was reading comments on the wall and would like to add one thing about thanking our dept. We don't leave until the chopper is in the air or the ambulance is in route and the area is clean up, ie. damage vehicles are gone and quiet. Several times our chief is asked why we hang there longer, We want no surprises, no one left behind, no found people after, for support for both Law Enforcement and patients' families, whats twenty minutes more. I am very proud to be member of my dept 20 years almost now, and a commissioner of district for over 15 years.

Merry Christmas and Happy Safe New Year. As a Fire Police officer (fancy term) I am usually at the scene until its no more scene and family members come and Tell me to say Thank You to the Volunteers that happen into their life, some still wondering, who in their right mind would get out of warm bed at 2:00 in the morning brave a wind chill of 27 below and still have a warm hand and heart toward their job. WE DO, The only people who can put on sixty pounds of gear and feel comfortable about it. Be Safe,
