I wish to give Honor to two Local Fire Dept. Volunteers at Krypton Volunteer Fire/Rescue Dept-941 at Krypton, KY in Perry County, KY. The First will be mentioned last, because he isn't a Fallen Hero. I wish to bestow honour on 29 year old Dennis Ray Stidham Jr. who, even though he had inoperable cancer, still found it within himself to help carry members of my family/friends out to a waiting ambulance. The other Person I wish to Honour is Louisville native, Mike Strickland. He didn't have to come to Eastern KY, the way we treated foriegners. But not only did he come, he helped start the '911-emergency' response effort here in Perry County. And, because of a person on SSI had donated a large portion of money to Krypton 941, he made fire/safety traing free to all the volunteers in Eastern KY. For that, I thank him, because my son wanted to be a volunteer and the Board of Directors couldn't afford to support him. He thought I was mad at the fire dept., when it was only my son. That's why I got involve in recruitment procedures. He did not know that my son forgave them.
If you would post this message for me, it would be simply wonderful!

Thank you for the Invite sir. I would like some help if at all possible with the nav. of this site. My name is Mike and I am 29. I have 15 years experience in the construction field and 10 yrs in the restaurant chain. I have been considering becoming a Fire-Fighter ever since *911,and yet I haven't put myself into any position to start any training. Well now that I am a temorary resident in Beaufort S.C., I live two blocks away from the Burton Pony Station. I have had quite an extreme young life and never finished my education(as far as on paper) and now I have the strongest urge of all to apply for training. My family in Livingston, Ky are all FF's, and I want to be apart of this life style. Please consider my thoughts, and if I could have some help with references, this would be of greatest help. Thanks again, and be safe.

Hey Chris - I am 30 years of age and a electrician, but looking to become a firefighter. I am taking EMT classes this fall and swift water rescue along wth getting CPR certified. I was just wondering if there was anything else i could do to help my chances. The age thing is a factor, but how old is to old? I am in great shape runnung, cycling, and working-out. Thanks for your help!
