Hi Chief,
How are you? Sacramento Fire Dept. going through some tough times (layoffs, brownouts, possible station closures). Just got off shift today. We just had a regional ARFF drill with the Sacramento international airport fire Dept (county) yesterday. Good refresher! The Batt. Chief there said they are reducing staffing as well. Hope all is well in Memphis.

Sounds rough Chief. We always say in Kentucky that, if you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes! Memphis isn't too far from Bowling Green, so, I know what you mean. Weather/climate seems to keep going from one extreme to the other, not much middle ground. Glad your house is okay. Take care.

Katrina was no problem for us. We were on the "clean" side, as it came ashore East of us. Ike on the other hand hammered us pretty good. Lost some trees here, and shingles, but nothing too bad. We had an apartment fire to respond to about two hours after the eye passed, THAT was an adventure! The real problems started as the power company restored power. Lots of downed lines arcing all over our area. We were pretty damn busy for about a week there.

NP. I did take the civil service test for medina. I am on the waiting list. I would love to be a paid guy, but its not bad being a callman.

Everythings good in Plano Chief! Been slow and quiet as far as call volume lately. We just got back from Kentucky State Fire school last Sunday. Excellent training provided. How's everything in Memphis?
