Pennsylvania Fire Academies
Most of the Pennsylvania fire training academies are either private institutions or state-run. The Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, offers free tuition for in-state public emergency responders as well as courses specializing in both the fire rescue and emergency response fields. The Philadelphia Fire Academy oversees the activities of the Safety Office, qualifies Philadelphia Fire Department members to drive fire trucks and ambulances, manages funeral planning and operations, and coordinates and administers the Department's in-service training for our veteran members.
