I'm a Paramedic in the UK with 12 years experience and would now like to have the chance to work in the United States with the interest of perminantly relocating to the United States and applying for Citizenship there.

I like being an EMT-B, but I would definitely suggest taking a basic dysrythermia course or 12 lead interpretation. Before I took the class I knew how to read the ekg's or ecg's but I did not know what I was looking at; It also just adds to your education which makes you a better EMT.

I have been a volunteer firefighter for 2 1/2 years now and I love everything about it, and recently I have started volunteering at local EMS station and soon to start my EMS class to get my certification.

I live in Western New York and just finished my EMT training and passed NY state certification test. Now I am going to take firefighting essentials 1. I am currently a volunteer fire/rescue woman for Ellery Center Fire Company in Ellery Center, New York. I am secretary for the company too. I have always loved helping people and am enjoying this experience. My advice is if you want to do this kind of work do not be afraid, just go for it!
